📋 Primary Responsibilities

You’ll support classroom and student needs under the guidance of a lead teacher. Duties may vary based on the specific assignment or campus, but common responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with daily instructional activities and student engagement
  • Supervising students during transitions, recess, lunch, and arrival/dismissal
  • Supporting special education students with academic, emotional, or physical needs
  • Reinforcing behavior management strategies
  • Preparing and organizing classroom materials
  • Aiding students using assistive technologies (as needed)
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Submitting feedback for the returning staff member
  • Following district protocols and safety policies at all times

🎓 Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Eligibility to work in the United States

  • Clean criminal background check (required for all substitutes in Texas)

💪 Working Conditions & Expectations

  • Bending, stooping, lifting light equipment (up to 30 lbs)
  • Helping students with mobility, toileting, or other physical assistance if required
