Dornick Hills Golf & Country Club is recruiting a Golf Course Superintendent to lead all facets of turf management and grounds operations at our historic Ardmore, Oklahoma property. Reporting to club leadership, you will craft and execute a year-round agronomic plan for greens, tees, fairways, and roughs; manage a dedicated crew and seven-figure operating budget; uphold strict environmental and safety compliance—including a current Oklahoma Chemical Applicator’s licence—and drive continuous enhancements that keep course conditions tournament-ready. Success in this role calls for 3-5 years’ supervisory experience on championship-level courses, deep knowledge of irrigation, pest control, and soil science, and the communication skills to collaborate with members and staff alike. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and supervise the maintenance and upkeep of golf course grounds, including greens, tees, fairways, and surrounding areas.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive turf management plan, ensuring optimal course conditions year-round.
  • Monitor course conditions, identifying areas for improvement, and execute necessary enhancements.
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including environmental laws and chemical applications.
  • Manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation while maintaining course standards.
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of grounds staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Explore and implement innovative technologies, techniques, and sustainability practices to enhance course operations.
  • Coordinate with golf club management to ensure smooth operation, including the organization of tournaments and events.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, engaging with members and guests to ensure a top-tier golfing experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in turf management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Current Chemical Applicators License required.
  • Proven expertise in turf maintenance, including in-depth knowledge of irrigation systems, pest management, and soil nutrition.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance regarding environmental and safety standards.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in golf course management or a similar role.
  • Ability to manage budgets and work within financial constraints while optimizing course quality.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to mentor and motivate a team.
  • Adept at problem-solving and implementing creative solutions to operational challenges.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in turf management, agronomy, horticulture, or related discipline preferred.
  • A Chemical Applicators License is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory role in golf course maintenance or management.
  • Advanced knowledge of golf course maintenance techniques, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Strong background in financial management, team leadership, and customer service.

  • Customer satisfaction related to course conditions and overall guest experience.
