School District Five of Lexington & Richland Counties is hiring a licensed Physical Therapist for its Summer 2025 ESY program (June–July, multiple campuses). The role pays $45/hour, runs Monday–Friday, roughly 8 a.m.–4 p.m., and centers on providing one-to-one and small-group therapy, summer evaluations, and IEP-team collaboration so students keep progressing while school is out. 2. Role Overview & Impact
As our ESY (Extended School Year) Physical Therapist, you will:
- Deliver targeted therapy to help students maintain and build on IEP goals during summer break.
- Lead comprehensive evaluations of motor skills, balance, and functional mobility to inform fall IEPs.

3. Key Responsibilities
- Direct Service Delivery: Provide one-to-one and small group PT sessions as individualized to each student’s IEP.
- Summer Evaluations: Conduct assessment (e.g., developmental motor screen, adaptive equipment, gait analysis) and create comprehensive reports.
- IEP Team Collaboration: Participate actively in summer IEP meetings—share findings, suggest therapy techniques, set goals.
- Documentation & Compliance: Take accurate session notes, track progress, and give evaluation summaries in AppliTrack and district databases.
- Family & Staff Communication: Engage parents, teachers, and aides with clear updates, home-program suggestions, and equipment instruction.
- Professional Growth: Attend district summer institutes and peer review sessions to continually refine best practices.
4. Required Qualifications
- License: Valid South Carolina Physical Therapist license (or eligibility to obtain).
- Degree: Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years working with pediatric clients, ideally in schools or outpatient clinics.
- Special Education Knowledge: Familiarity with IDEA regulations, IEP processes, and ESY programming standards.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with AppliTrack, electronic documentation, and assistive technology.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communicator, adept at building rapport with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

- Board Certification: Pediatric Clinical Specialist (PCS) or equivalent.
