Job Overview

Crothall Healthcare is hiring a Director of Patient Transport for a 300-plus-bed hospital in Bayonne, NJ. The role pays $85,000 – $90,000 a year plus bonus and reports to the on-site Support Services Executive. You will lead a team of transport supervisors and attendants, schedule moves through TeamChimes/TeamTransport, track on-time performance, and hold monthly budget reviews that drive cost per move below target. Success hinges on three to five years of hospital-based transport or EVS management, solid spreadsheets/financial reporting skills, and the confidence to brief nursing leaders on throughput metrics. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but equivalent management experience in acute-care support services will be considered. Major Duties

• Organize daily patient transport operations and facilitate effective service delivery.
• Oversee and manage a transport staff team to provide high performance and compliance.
• Manage departmental budgets, track spending, and improve cost effectiveness.
• Integrate workflow processes to improve service effectiveness and patient care.
• Coordinate with hospital departments to enjoy hassle-free patient transport services.
• Maintain records and generate reports for administrative and compliance purposes.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.
• Utilize transport management software (TeamChimes, TeamTransport) to schedule and track.
• Coordinate ancillary services such as valet, courier, shuttle, and patient observation programs (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Equivalent work experience or bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: Previous healthcare management experience in patient transport or allied fields.
• Leadership Qualities: Excellent experience of operational leadership and management of staff.
• Financial Acumen: Ability to read financial statements and departmental budgets.
• Tech-Savvy: Knowledge of patient transport management software.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Problem-Solving: Process improvement implementation skill and patient experience improvement skill.
• Public Speaking: At ease with presenting facts and with holding team meetings.
