Addictions Specialist (Linn County Health Services) Careers | Full-Time Position 2025
The Linn County Department of Health Services is seeking dedicated and qualified professionals for the role of Addictions Specialist. These positions are part of the Adolescent Treatment Team within the Alcohol & Drug Department. The role is focused on providing comprehensive addiction and co-occurring mental health treatment to youth and families in Linn County.
As an Addictions Specialist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering individual, group, and family therapy, as well as community-based interventions. You will work closely with referring agencies, including Parole & Probation and DHS Child Welfare, to support youth struggling with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health challenges, and problem gambling. The role also includes case management, consultation, and community education to enhance public awareness and support recovery.

📚 Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for substance use and co-occurring mental health issues
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide counseling and therapy to youth and families, including those on parole or involved with child welfare services
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on addiction recovery
- Engage in case management to support continuity of care
- Maintain accurate client documentation and case files
- Collaborate with community partners for coordinated service delivery
- Deliver community education and outreach on addiction and mental health topics
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to program development
- Travel to community-based clinics as required
🎓 Minimum Qualifications
Addictions Specialist 1:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Experience: At least 1 year of professional or practicum experience in addiction treatment
- Certification:
- Must possess or be eligible for Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) – Level One in Oregon
- Candidates with significant experience but pending certification may be considered if certification is obtained within two years
- Salary Range: $4,684 – $5,975 per month
Addictions Specialist 2:
- Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in addiction treatment or prevention
- Alternatively, 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree
- Certification:
- CADC – Level One for Master’s degree holders
- CADC – Level Two for Bachelor’s degree holders
- Salary Range: $5,161 – $6,587 per month
Addictions Specialist 3:
- Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Experience:
- 2 years of post-Master’s supervised experience
- 4 years of experience in addiction treatment (pre- or post-Master’s)
- Licensure:
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or CADC – Level Two
- Salary Range: $5,691 – $7,267 per month
