    About Us

    Overview

    Serving a 196-square-mile area northwest of Columbia, District Five educates students in the towns of Irmo and Chapin across parts of Lexington and Richland counties. Established in 1951, the district offers a complete PK–12 program across 12 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 4 comprehensive high schools and 1 alternative high school, with a total enrollment of approximately 16,680 and a student–teacher ratio of 15:1 Wikipedia.

    Schools & Attendance Areas

    District Five is organized into three attendance areas—Chapin, Dutch Fork and Irmo—each with its own feeder pattern.
