Established in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is America’s oldest outdoor recreation and conservation club. With its purpose to inspire the protection, enjoyment, and appreciation of the outdoors, AMC engages a community of diverse outdoor enthusiasts, educators, and conservation professionals.
AMC is busy across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, maintaining lodges, visitor centers, trails, and campsites as well as youth programs, research initiatives, and advocacy efforts. Working with thousands annually—seasoned hikers and novice outdoor enthusiasts alike—through its chapters and volunteers, the organization.
